About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive the culinary direction of the business. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, training and mentoring the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes consistently
- Designing, costing and updating seasonal menus
- Managing food quality, presentation and portion control across all services
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including prep, service and close
- Ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
- Managing stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
- Controlling food costs and minimising waste while maintaining quality standards
- Creating staff rosters and managing labour costs within budget
- Collaborating with management on specials, events, and overall customer experience
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a relevant environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent cooking skills and deep knowledge of mediterranean cuisine type
- Experience in menu planning, costing and GP/food cost control
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen WHS requirements
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to perform under pressure
- Ability to maintain high standards of quality and consistency during busy services
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach with front-of-house and management
- Relevant hospitality Diploma or a Degree or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management
