Temporary, Full Time, 76 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE). 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Salary range
Level 8.1 to 8.4 ($112,150.29 - $117,677.54 per annum) dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.
Opportunity
The City of Albany’s Development Services Team is looking for an experienced, motivated and qualified individual to take up the role of Senior Planning Officer on a 12 month contract.
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment and Customer Relations, this role will see you responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient processing of development and subdivision applications and the delivery of professional advice to the City and community on various planning matters, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer experience and outcomes, that align with the City's strategic objectives and statutory requirements.
About You
Experience in the use of urban and regional planning frameworks, including detailed knowledge of statutory, policy, and strategic planning principles. The candidate should have a proven track record in assessing and determining development applications in accordance with relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will also need to have a tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the industry. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing urban and regional planning policies and procedures and, a knowledge and experience in examining, processing and reporting on subdivision and development applications.
Candidate should also have experience in customer experience and stakeholder engagement, with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various audiences on technical matters, in person and in writing and, experience supervising and leading a team, overseeing day to day functions, monitoring workflows, mentoring and providing guidance and support to other staff with additional qualifications in leadership and management is highly desirable.
