Riverside Automotive is a family-owned service center established in 2010 in Morningside, QLD. We are now looking to recruit Motor Mechanic to join our dedicated and professional service team on a full time and permanent basis.
Responsibility:
Repair, maintain and test motor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components.
Duties:
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, and check parts.
- Repair and replace worn and defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and refer to service manuals as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Reassemble engines and parts after repair.
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair for proper performance.
- Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
- Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.
- Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls as needed
Qualifications:
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training
- AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Experience:
- At least three years of relevant experience.
Skills and Attributes:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults.
- Performing maintenance and servicing.
- Understanding vehicle systems (engine, brakes, suspension, etc.)
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork.
