The Role
This role will be a part of a team that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.
The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components and procedures of the role, and a wide variety of laboratory processes associated with working in a modern laboratory.
The Day to Day
Responsibilities include:
Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples.
Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions (QWIs).
Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard.
Performing Calculations as required when conducting analytical preparations.
Operation of sample preparation equipment.
Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour to section supervisor.
Ability to undergo cross training to facilitate fluctuations in workflow and accommodate leave.
Assisting in other duties as required.
The Essentials
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated work experience in a similar discipline.
A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience.
Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety.
A positive work attitude, a willingness to learn new skills and be a great team player.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work well autonomously or in a team environment.
Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality.
