Test Analyst
Your new team Join the Testing team within Auto & General's Technology department, part of the Technology, Space & Distribution division. As an individual contributor, you will report to a Test Lead and collaborate closely within an End-to-End team, working alongside Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners. The role This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and integrity of our software. You will be responsible for the end-to-end testing lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution, defect management, and reporting. You'll contribute to functional testing across various phases, including System, Integration, Regression, and Production Verification Testing, and design tests to thoroughly assess risks associated with deployments.

Participate proactively in team meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Work with the End-to-End team to define Acceptance Criteria and the Definition of Done.

Collaborate with team members and provide accurate test estimations.

Clarify requirements with team members and business SMEs, focusing on testability, consistency, and completeness.

Design, Script, and Execute Test Cases, utilising tools like XRAY.

Ensure test cases are traceable to requirements.

Schedule and execute appropriate testing tasks during releases, maintaining quality standards.

Develop in-depth knowledge of business rules, multiple systems, and their functionality.

Adhere to A&G Organisation Testing Practices and ensure proper use of testing tools.

Adapt quickly to changes, updating or improving test cases as needed.

Report and manage defects according to process, collaborating for resolution.

Accurately evaluate and report test results, progress, and product quality.

Develop understanding of test environments and identify/execute Regression Suites.

Collaborate with Automation Testers to keep regression suites current.

Document and share learned knowledge within the Testing Community of Practice.
What experience you'll bring

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Test Analyst.

Demonstrated experience in creating test plans, test traceability matrices, test case design, execution, defect management, and test reports.

Experience working in an Agile environment.

Relevant Industry experience.

Understanding of software development methodologies including AGILE/Scrum and Continuous Delivery, with a focus on agile testing.

Proficiency with testing tools such as JIRA, Confluence, XRAY, or similar.

Demonstrated use of testing techniques like Risk Based testing, BDD, and TDD.

Ability to actively contribute to the Testing Community of Practice.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong understanding of testing methodologies and techniques, including BDD, TDD, and Risk-based testing.

Understanding of the Testing pyramid.

Proactive, takes initiative, pragmatic, and resilient to change.

A degree in an Information Technology field from a recognised tertiary institution, or other acceptable qualifications or experience.

ISTQB Certified.
Location
This role can be based in North Lakes, Toowong or Kawana.
