About the Role
Caring for the Community is seeking a reliable and friendly Disability Support Worker to support a participant in Mount Gambier with community access, social participation, and day-to-day independence.
This role would suit someone who is confident, patient, and enjoys helping participants engage with the community, build confidence, and participate in meaningful social activities.
We are preferably seeking a male support worker aged between 20–40, however female applicants are also welcome to apply.
Shift Availability
The participant requires support for the following shifts:
- Monday: 4-hour shift, preferably around 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Wednesday: 4-hour shift, preferably around 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Friday: 4-hour shift, preferably around 11:00am – 3:00pm
- Saturday: 3-hour shift, preferably between 11:00am – 3:00pm
Shift times are flexible and can be discussed with the right applicant.
Duties Include
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the participant with community access
- Encouraging social participation and engagement
- Assisting the participant to attend appointments, activities, or outings
- Supporting independence and confidence in the community
- Building a positive and respectful support relationship
- Following the participant’s care plan and support goals
- Maintaining clear communication with the team
- Completing progress notes and reporting any concerns when required
- Promoting dignity, choice, and control at all times
About You
We are looking for someone who is:

- Able to work independently while following care plans
- Committed to providing person-centred support
Previous experience in disability support, mental health, community access, or social participation is highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Own reliable car with current registration
Other Requirements

- Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- COVID-19 Infection Control Training
- Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker
Licence/Certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check — Required

- First Aid Certification — Preferred
