Hamilton Island is seeking a motivated and environmentally conscious Weed Management Technician to join our Resort Presentation team. This role is responsible for assisting in the management and control of weeds across Hamilton Island and Dent Island to maintain the island’s natural beauty while protecting the environment and ensuring a high standard of guest satisfaction.

Assist in the implementation of the annual weed management program across Hamilton Island and Dent Island

Prepare and apply herbicides in accordance with safety and environmental procedures

Operate spray unit equipment safely and effectively in line with Workplace Health & Safety requirements

Monitor and manage weed infestations to support environmental conservation efforts

Assist with employee training and development activities as required

Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and other departments

Work collaboratively with Golf Course and Environmental teams

Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard

Maintain accurate records relating to weed treatment and chemical usage
You are reliable, safety-focused, and enjoy working outdoors in a physically active role. You have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Chemical Handling and Application Certificate (Essential)

Previous experience in a similar role (Essential)

Current manual driver’s licence (Essential)

Diploma in Conservation and Land Management with relevant experience (Preferred)

Previous people management or leadership experience (Preferred)

Off-road or 4WD driving experience (Preferred)
