The Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre is seeking an Administration Officer to join their dynamic legal team in Far West New South Wales, focusing on access-to-justice issues, social justice and human rights. The MFCCLC Far West team is part of a broader cross-border legal service that provides free and confidential generalist legal services across the Northern and Southern Mallee of Victoria, South-West NSW and Far West NSW.
MFCCLC Far West offers free legal information, advice and casework to residents of Broken Hill, Central Darling Shire and the Unincorporated Area of Far West NSW, including civil, family law, family violence intervention and other generalist legal services. Our team provides duty lawyer services to the Broken Hill and Wilcannia Local Courts, and outreach services to Wilcannia, Menindee, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra and White Cliffs.
Working closely with other members of the Far West team, the Administration Officer assists with the day-to-day running of the service. This includes responsibility for managing reception, answering phones, referring clients, arranging client appointments with the Intake officer, setting and booking calendars and appointments, data entry and assistance with overall tasks of the legal service as directed by the Manager.
- The Administration Officer is required to hold (or be willing to obtain) a Certificate IV in Business Administration, with relevant administrative experience; experience in a legal setting and/or data entry is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and client engagement skills, including the ability to interact effectively face-to-face, online and via telephone.
- Commitment to undertake further relevant studies, with the support of the organisation.
- Hold a current driver’s licence, a willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
