Role Overview
We are looking for a Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes/AKS, and CI/CD. The role will focus on building and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud platforms that enable development teams to deploy and operate applications efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure.
- Develop reusable and scalable infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage and support Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployments.
- Develop platform automation, deployment standards, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
- Manage Azure networking, RBAC, Key Vault, monitoring, and other core cloud services.
- Implement platform security, reliability, scalability, and high-availability best practices.
- Monitor platform health and troubleshoot infrastructure, Kubernetes, and deployment-related issues.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, SRE, and security teams to improve developer experience and platform reliability.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, documentation, and reusable platform components.
Required Skills
- 4–8 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AKS.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with Docker and containerized workloads.
- Good knowledge of Azure networking, IAM/RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, VNets, and Storage.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell.
- Good troubleshooting and production support experience.
Good to Have
- Helm and Kubernetes operators.
- Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
- Python scripting.
- DevSecOps and cloud security practices.
- Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or self-service developer tooling.
- Knowledge of GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-400 or AZ-104.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Azure + Terraform + Kubernetes/AKS + CI/CD, with a platform mindset focused on automation, scalability, security, reliability, and improving developer experience.
Pay: $800.00 – $1,000.00 per day
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sydney NSW
