Daracon are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Hunter Civil Team on a permanent basis. This role will be located in the Newcastle region, working across key projects within our operations, including civil and mining infrastructure projects. This is a diverse, challenging and autonomous role that would offer a fantastic next step in career progression.

Key responsibilities:
-
Reporting to the Project Manager, working with our Site Engineering and Supervisory Team for the management of complex Civil Projects
- Managing work and performance of both subcontractors and internal resources to achieve outcomes and utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work, procurement and resource time management
- Develop and manage project specific documentation

Manage budgets, track and forecast and report the progress of the works
To be considered for this role you will:
-
Ideally be a Degree Qualified Civil Engineer
-
Ideally have 8-10 years experience
- Ideally have proven experience on design and construct projects
-
Have overall proven engineering experience with the delivery of TfNSW bridge works and specifications or similar
-
Be able to procure and engage with key subcontractors and suppliers in the management of scheduling and deliveries with the ability to work through constructability issues on site

Be experienced with the management, development and implementation of temporary works designs

Be fully conversant with use of ready-mix concrete, including pumping, placement and curing – ideally holding B80 concrete grey card training.

Be able to engage, plan and execute major crane works and “heavy lifting”

Have exceptional communication skills, in particular your ability to negotiate and lead other team members

Have the ability to work with the team forwards to meet key project milestones and deliverables

Have confidence in your decision-making ability, problem solve and act accordingly

Have the ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members to assist in their development and transfer of your skills and expertise

Be a safety leader who is able to use your experience to uphold our safety culture and values
Ideally you would live in the local area, however we would be open to considering applicants from further afield.
