What you'll be doing
The Medico-Legal Manager is responsible for the management of the medico-legal services including overseeing staff management and workflow of all medico-legal processes, making complex decisions, ensuring requests are completed in accordance with legislation, identifying areas to improve efficiency, and acting as an escalation point for medico-legal team. The position also requires liaising with members of public, internal and external key stakeholders, solicitors and courts; police and other legislative and regulatory bodies.
Protecting patient/carer’s privacy is the principal objective of the Medico-Legal team and includes releasing information in accordance with The Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIPA).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Demonstrated experience managing release of information processes within a healthcare environment, including the application of relevant privacy legislation, policies and retention requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and support a team to achieve service objectives, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Demonstrated experience reviewing processes, conducting audits and implementing service improvements to enhance compliance, efficiency and quality outcomes.
