The purpose of this role is to lead and support the delivery of Pathology Queensland's Clinical Governance and Quality Management Framework, ensuring services meet regulatory and accreditation requirements while driving continual improvement, risk management and best-practice service delivery across the state.
What you'll do
In this role you will collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, perform specimen reception and registration activities, process and prepare samples for analysis and referral testing, maintain laboratory records and data entry systems, support stores and inventory functions, assist with quality control activities, liaise with patients and healthcare professionals, and contribute to the efficient operation of pathology services across Rockhampton and surrounding laboratory locations.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification
Has extensive experience within pathology laboratory environments
Has demonstrated expertise in quality management, clinical governance and accreditation systems
Has experience conducting audits, compliance reviews and quality investigations
Can influence, engage and build relationships across large and diverse stakeholder groups
Has strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills with a focus on continuous improvement
