About the Position:
The Agricultural Technician (full time) role is a hands-on position critical to optimizing our farm's productivity and sustainability. You will work closely with our team to analyze soil and land conditions, develop innovative farming techniques, and ensure efficient crop production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examining topographical, physical, and soil characteristics of farmland to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies.
- Assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage.
- Monitoring crop health and recommending improvements to enhance yield and quality.
- Conducting soil tests and interpreting results to guide fertilization and irrigation practices.
- Collaborating with farm management to implement sustainable and efficient farming practices.
Requirements:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum Qualifications Required: Certificate IV in Horticulture or Diploma.
- Minimum Experience Required: 1 year in a relevant agricultural or horticultural role.
- Soil Analysis: Ability to examine topographical, physical, and soil characteristics to determine optimal land use and identify nutrient deficiencies.
- Crop Management: Knowledge of planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing techniques to enhance crop yield and quality.
- Sustainable Farming Practices: Expertise in developing and implementing environmentally sustainable methods to improve land usage.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to address agricultural challenges, such as soil degradation or nutrient imbalances, with practical solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with tools and technologies for soil testing, irrigation systems, and precision farming.
Salary offered is $76k to $80k
Pay: $76,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
