Employment Term: Casual Opportunities
Service Hours: Monday to Thursday: 5:00pm – 9:00am, Friday 4:00pm through to Monday 9:00am & Public holidays
Please note these are the span of operating hours. We ask for a reasonable level of availability across these times rather than full coverage.
Location: Rockhampton
Remuneration: Base standby rate: $51.00 per hour + super (for being logged on and available), Activated call-out rate: $63.75 per hour + super (when responding to incidents) + Not-for-profit salary packaging available

The Victims of Crime Community Recovery (VOCCR) program is a short-term intervention model providing individual support in the critical days following a serious violent crime. The program offers immediate brokerage and referrals to assist with long-term recovery and will operate as a 24/7 response in five geographical locations, being Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Logan and Ipswich.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Provide trauma-informed intake, assessment, and crisis response support
Deliver immediate practical assistance to victims, families, and witnesses
Operate effectively in a combination of phone-based and face-to-face environments
Respond to urgent client needs through timely intervention and coordinated care
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external services to support recovery outcomes
(A mobile phone will be provided, and all on-call duties can be managed remotely via phone)
What makes a difference for us?
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science)
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience (Equivalent experience with lesser qualifications will be considered)
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, crisis response, and case management
Proven ability to effectively communicate in a respectful, non-threatening, and non-intrusive manner with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Strong communication, listening, and advocacy skills.
Ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations with professionalism.
High level of personal resilience and ability to manage exposure to vicarious trauma.
Commitment to promoting victim-led recovery approaches.
Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Must have the ability to pick up shifts within the service hours, noted above (overnights and weekend work)
