About your opportunity:
In this position you will...
Use evidence based psychological tools to contribute to the psychological assessment and management of patients with cancer and their carers with a high level of professional independence.
Apply high level professional judgement, policy knowledge and clinical expertise to develop and improve clinical practices to enhance service delivery to a complex and diverse health care population.
Participate at a high level in the development and management of clinical research and service evaluation activities relevant to the Medical Oncology, Haematology and Radiology Services.
Utilise high level communication skills to provide professional advice to medical and nursing staff, allied health professionals, non-professionals, community organisations and to patients and their carers regarding clinical and health psychology areas.
Contribute to effective team functioning and coordination of patient care through development of cooperative and effective working relationships, active participation in team meetings and interdisciplinary consultations and provision of education regarding clinical and health psychology areas to other team members.
Provide clinical practice supervision to Queensland Health psychologists and postgraduate psychology students within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
