Are you passionate about helping people learn, grow and achieve their full potential? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Learning & Development Officer to join our People & Culture team.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the development of our people, enhancing organisational capability and contributing to Council's vision of becoming a true learning organisation. Working closely with leaders and employees across the organisation, you will design, coordinate and facilitate a wide range of learning and development initiatives that support workforce growth, engagement and organisational success.

Temporary eleven (11) month contract, full-time (35 hours per week) (Maternity Leave Backfill)

Remuneration of $3,476.98 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,172.38 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%). Please note that these rates include the applicable Award increase effective from 1 July 2026.

In this role, you will:
-
Design, develop and facilitate engaging training programs and professional development opportunities.

Support organisational development initiatives, including employee engagement, recognition and continuous improvement programs.

Coordinate training activities, maintain learning records and administer Council's Learning Management System (LMS).

Support trainees, apprentices, cadets, graduates and work placement participants throughout their employment journey.

Assist with employee induction, performance development processes and workforce capability initiatives.

Partner with leaders and staff to identify learning needs and deliver practical development solutions.

Assist with the promotion and administration of Council's Bob Osborne Skills Centre (BOSC).
What you will need to succeed:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.

Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

Class C Driver's Licence.

Demonstrated experience in learning and development, training delivery and facilitation.
