About the Opportunity

At Metcash, we're passionate about supporting independent retailers and helping local communities thrive. As our next Store Operations Manager, you'll lead a busy wholesale branch, driving operational excellence, delivering outstanding customer service, and building a safe, high-performing team culture.
Working Hours:
- Core shifts run Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM – 4:30 PM
- One Saturday shift every four weeks, with time in lieu provided the following week
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are delivered in full and on time, leading frontline teams, and identifying opportunities to improve performance, productivity, and customer outcomes. If you're a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, and making a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
In this Role
- Lead day-to-day branch operations, ensuring exceptional service and DIFOT (Delivered In Full, On Time) performance
- Drive operational, sales, and financial targets while identifying opportunities to improve branch performance
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members to build a high-performing, engaged workforce
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, Food Safety, HACCP, and environmental requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and operational partners to deliver outstanding service
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer outcomes
You’re Likely a Match If
- Proven experience leading operational teams
- Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
- Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and productivity
- Knowledge of warehouse, inventory, or supply chain operations
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
