The opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Resource Development Field Assistant to join our Resource Development team at our Duketon operation. Reporting to the Senior Resource Development Geologist, you will play a key role in supervising and undertaking field based resource development activities while supporting safe, efficient and high quality drilling and exploration programs.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to combine hands on field work, leadership and contractor management while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of our exploration and resource development activities. You will be responsible for supervising Field Assistants, coordinating drilling support activities, maintaining compliance requirements and ensuring all field programs are completed safely and efficiently.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Promoting a strong safety culture and the Regis Values across all field activities
Supervising, mentoring and training Field Assistants
Ensuring timely completion of site inspections and accurate database entry
Supervising core yard activities, including processing, cutting and sampling
Monitoring and following up completion of safety and operational actions
Ensuring appropriate QA/QC processes are maintained for resource and regional drilling programs
Coordinating contractors and consultants, including site access, inspections, permits and inductions
Managing sample collection and dispatch processes in accordance with company QA/QC requirements
Ensuring accurate field data collection and entry into LogChief
Conducting vehicle, equipment and communication system inspections and maintenance checks
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Demonstrated practical experience in mineral exploration and resource development activities
Experience in a Field Assistant or similar exploration support role
Experience leading, mentoring or supervising field based personnel
Sound understanding of drilling support, sampling and QA/QC procedures
Current First Aid certification
Current manual C Class Driver's Licence
Nationally recognised 4WD certification
Experience working in remote and challenging field environments
Strong knowledge of GPS equipment and coordinate systems
Proven ability to accurately collect samples and record field data
Strong organisational, communication and contractor management skills
