Responsible for managing human resources, office facilities and services within the organisation, the Human Resources & General Affairs (HRGA) Division is an integral part of Mitsui & Co. The Role
The HR Advisor serves as a primary HR contact for Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd.’s business and corporate divisions providing generalist HR advice, operational support, and guidance. The focus of this role is to add value by ensuring the HRGA Division enable, coach and support managers in fostering high performing teams that are engaged, effective and assist to meet organisational objectives. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assist General Managers with the timely completion of the performance appraisal and target incentive processes, including documentation in line with relevant company policies and practices.
- Provide generalist HR advice and support for all facets of the employee lifecycle to General Managers and employees of the designated client group and group companies as needed.
- Manage all end-to-end recruitment for the designated client group and Group Companies as required.
- Manage all onboarding and offboarding activities for employees within designated client groups including conducting inductions and exit interviews.
- Manage any expatriate / relocation activities for employees within designated client groups as required.
- Evaluate, assess and recommend appropriate remuneration for positions according to internal and benchmarking.
- Ensure proper operation or workplace health and safety in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney offices and assist in maintaining standards.
- Assist the HR team with the development of internal/external training programs.
- Support the HR Manager to manage annual remuneration review processes of MCA and group companies to ensure salaries are competitive and reflective of the market.
- Manage and execute annual employee benefits and/or engagement activities for Mitsui as necessary.
- Provide relevant support, including project delivery to the HR Manager and General Manager, HRGA Division.
The Person
As an experienced HR Advisor, you are ready to further grow your HR career within a global organisation, collaborating with stakeholders from various industries and backgrounds. You are a team player who is proactive, keen to learn and open minded. You will also possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a degree where HR was the major discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a HR generalist role supporting client groups.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment and selection.
- Experience using HRIS, ATS or SAP systems.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment law and related legislation
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate ideas/changes to all levels of employees.
- Strong time management with the ability to prioritise and coordinate work to meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and sensitivity.
- Demonstrated willingness and effectiveness in collaborating within a HR team and with others on group projects.
