Join a leading national insurance practice
The team
We are seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join our respected Insurance team, working closely with Partner Katie Beshara (née Clark) and a high-performing team of specialist lawyers based in our Brisbane office.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse mix of government, institutional and general insurance matters, including complex historical abuse claims and advisory work for a broad range of clients across Australia.
You will be entrusted with managing your own matters, developing strong client relationships, and contributing to strategic legal outcomes. As part of a nationally connected team, you'll also benefit from opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across our Australian offices.
The role
- Manage a varied portfolio of insurance claims and advisory matters.
- Advise government, institutional and insurer clients on complex liability issues.
- Work on sensitive and significant historical abuse matters.
- Build strong client relationships and deliver commercially focused legal advice.
- Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues nationally on large and complex matters.

More about you
We're interested in hearing from lawyers who have:
- 3+ years' post-admission experience in defendant public liability claims.
- Experience managing historical abuse matters.
- An interest in leveraging technology and innovation to improve legal service delivery.
- Strong claims management and strategic litigation skills.
- A proven commitment to exceptional client service.
- Excellent organisational skills and experience managing a busy portfolio of matters.
- Experience managing disclosure processes and large volumes of information.
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to mentor and develop junior lawyers.
- Resilience, professionalism and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
