Disability Support Worker
Location: Adelaide Metropolitan Area & Surrounding Regions
Position Type: Casual / Full-Time (depending on applicant availability)
Shifts rotate as the following;
8am-4pm
4pm-11pm
11pm-8am
Some shifts will include covering both evening shifts (4pm-8am). Overnight rates will apply.
About the Role
Inclusive Care and Support Service is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living with disability.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play an important role in helping participants maintain their independence, achieve their goals, and actively engage within their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs and goals.
- Assist participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support community access, social participation, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Promote independence, choice, and self-determination.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.
- Deliver culturally respectful and inclusive support, particularly when working with Aboriginal participants and communities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reports as required.
- Follow participant care plans, organisational policies, and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of participants at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or related field (or willingness to obtain).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Administering Medication Training (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of person-centred and strengths-based approaches.
Desirable
- Experience working within Aboriginal communities or a demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
- Experience in disability support, mental health support, aged care, or community services.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and disability sector.
