Disability Support Worker – North-West Tasmania (Burnie & Wynyard)
Innovative Care Tasmania Pty Ltd is currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in the Burnie and Wynyard regions of North-West Tasmania.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and participate actively in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
- Support participants with community access and social engagement.
- Administer and assist with medications in accordance with organisational policies and participant support plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
- Promote participant choice, independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Follow NDIS Practice Standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania).
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or equivalent qualification.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent).
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Manual Handling Training.
- Medication Endorsement (Mandatory).
- Full Australian Working Rights or Australian Permanent Residency/Citizenship.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience working in the disability or community services sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and shift work where required.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, participant-focused support.
