KidsXpress is a children’s mental health charity helping to transform the lives of children impacted by adversity. We deliver trauma-informed Expressive Therapy to children under 12, alongside education services for parents, teachers and professionals who care for them.
We are seeking an experienced and creative Communications & Content Coordinator to bring KidsXpress’ stories, impact and campaigns to life.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this is a hands-on role for an experienced communications professional with strong writing, design and digital content skills. Working across the organisation, you’ll translate strategic briefs and ideas into engaging, high-quality communications – from impact stories and donor communications to campaigns, digital content, presentations and short-form video.
The role is suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, can work with a high level of autonomy and has the technical capability to take a brief from concept through to polished final product.
We know flexibility matters. This role can be worked 2 or 3 days per week, with a hybrid mix of office (Macquarie Park) and remote working.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality written and visual content across campaigns, donor communications, impact stories, digital channels and organisational communications.
- Develop campaign collateral, EDMs, social media content, presentations, pitch decks, proposals and reports.
- Create professional, on-brand visual assets and engaging short-form digital content.
- Manage social media content planning, scheduling and publishing.
- Develop and deliver email campaigns and maintain website content through our CMS.
- Work closely with Fundraising and Impact teams to translate information and stories into compelling communications.
- Monitor social, website and email performance and use insights to continually improve content.
- Manage competing communications priorities and deliver high-quality work independently and on time.
About You
You are an experienced communications professional who combines creativity with strong technical execution. You’re an excellent writer with a strong eye for design and enjoy taking ideas and turning them into engaging, polished content.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in communications, content creation or a related role.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt your style across different audiences and formats.
- Strong graphic design capability, including excellent skills in Canva.
- Demonstrated experience creating engaging digital and social content, including short-form video.
- Experience with CMS platforms and email marketing tools such as Campaign Monitor.
- Strong visual judgement and attention to detail.
- The ability to interpret a brief, work independently and confidently manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative and creative approach and an interest in using your skills to make a meaningful difference for children and families.
- Knowledge of or experience working in the not-for-profit sector and/or mental health sector is highly desirable.
We recognise that no candidate will meet every criterion. If your experience is different but relevant, we encourage you to apply.
