Painter – Full Time Position
Aptus Projects Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Painter to join our growing team. We provide building, construction, fit-out, maintenance and refurbishment services across residential and commercial projects throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.
This is a full-time position suitable for a reliable and skilled painter who can work independently and as part of a project team. The successful applicant will be involved in painting and surface finishing works across a range of client sites and project locations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, patching, filling, cleaning and removing old paint or wallpaper where required. The role will involve applying paints, stains, varnishes, sealers, primers and protective coatings to internal and external building surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
The Painter will also be required to mix and match paints to achieve required colours and finishes, paint walls, ceilings, doors, timber structures, metal surfaces and other building fixtures, and ensure that all completed works meet the required quality standards.
The role will also involve carrying out repair and repainting works for residential, commercial, maintenance and refurbishment projects, reading and interpreting work orders and project instructions, coordinating with supervisors and other trades on site, and maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants should have relevant painting and decorating experience in the construction or maintenance industry. A trade qualification in painting and decorating is preferred, although applicants with substantial practical experience may also be considered.
The successful applicant must have good knowledge of surface preparation, paint application, colour matching and safe handling of paints and materials. Strong attention to detail, reliability, time management and the ability to work across different project sites are essential.
A Construction White Card is required. A current driver licence is preferred due to the need to travel to various client and project sites across New South Wales.
