Canberra Trade Solutions is a construction and trade services business delivering projects across residential, commercial and related construction sectors.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Contract Administrator to join our team and support the commercial and contractual administration of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and administer construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase agreements and related documentation.
- Review contract terms, specifications, scopes of work and project requirements.
- Assist with the negotiation and administration of contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor contractual obligations, project milestones, deliverables and key dates.
- Prepare, assess and maintain documentation relating to contract variations, extensions of time and contractual claims.
- Review subcontractor and supplier progress claims and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate contract registers, correspondence, records and project documentation.
- Monitor compliance with contractual terms and identify potential contractual or commercial risks.
- Liaise with project managers, site personnel, clients, subcontractors and suppliers regarding contractual matters.
- Assist with cost control, contract performance monitoring and preparation of project reports.
- Support the resolution of contractual issues and disputes.
- Assist with contract completion, final accounts and project close-out documentation.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification in Contract Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business or a related field.
- Previous experience in contract administration, preferably within the construction or building industry.
- Experience preparing and administering construction contracts and subcontracts.
- Sound knowledge of variations, progress claims, contractual correspondence and project documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- High attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and contractual deadlines.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and relevant project or contract administration software.
About the Role
This is a full-time position based in Canberra, ACT. The Contract Administrator will work closely with management, project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure contracts are properly administered throughout the project lifecycle.
