We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Child Care Worker - Early Childhood Educator who is passionate about providing high-quality care and supporting the learning and development of young children across all age groups.
About the Role
Working as part of our experienced educational team, you will assist in providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. You will support the implementation of educational programs, supervise children's daily routines and recreational activities, and build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing learning materials, educational resources and equipment for children's educational and recreational activities.
- Prepare and conduct age-appropriate learning experiences, creative play activities and recreational programs that promote children's physical, emotional, cognitive and social development.
- Supervise children throughout indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and active participation.
- Guide children's behaviour through positive interactions while encouraging social development, independence and confidence.
- Read stories, sing songs, facilitate games and engage children in activities that promote language development, creativity and learning.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meal times, rest periods, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene while encouraging independence appropriate to their age.
- Observe children's development and contribute to documenting learning progress and developmental milestones.
- Support the implementation of educational programs in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Develop warm, respectful and professional relationships with children, families and fellow educators.
- Maintain clean, safe and engaging learning environments while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, child protection and centre policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Centre Director, Educational Leader and other educators to support continuous improvement in educational practices.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or another relevant qualification recognised under the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
Skills and Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience working as a Child Care Worker, Early Childhood Educator or similar role within an approved early childhood education and care service.
- Demonstrated experience caring for and educating children from birth to five years of age.
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS) and Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Ability to supervise children and maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic computer skills to support electronic learning documentation and communication with families.
