About the Position
Reporting to the Town Maintenance Coordinator, the Irrigation Specialist is primarily responsible for the operation, maintenance and optimisation of irrigation systems across Shire assets, including but not limited to parks, gardens, ovals and road reserves. As part of the Town Maintenance team, the position will also support general maintenance activities such as grounds upkeep, operation and care of plant and equipment, mowing, and other operational tasks as required. Occasional travel to other Shire towns will be required. This is a physical, hands-on role working primarily outdoors in Pilbara conditions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience as an irrigation specialist, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in an operational environment. Experience and Tickets will include:
- HR Licence (preferred) and White Card
- Certificate or Qualification in Irrigation Technology, Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) or similiar
- Extensive experience in the maintenance and management of turf across parks, sports fields and landscaped areas
- Skilled in mowing, edging, fertilising and irrigation system operation to ensure health, high-quality turf presentation
You will also bring a commitment to safety and compliance, ability to work outdoors in Pilbara conditions, good communication skills, a team focused attitude and a reliable, proactive and solutions focused approach.
