As a growing company, we are looking for an enthusiastic Operations officer to strengthen our team.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on, part-time role (3 days per week) suited to an experienced accounting professional who can work autonomously and ensure the financial compliance and reporting obligations of the business are met accurately and on time. You will have direct responsibility for statutory compliance, payroll processing, and day-to-day financial reconciliation, reporting directly to the Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Statutory Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) in accordance with ATO deadlines.
- Manage payroll tax obligations, including monthly returns and annual reconciliations with Revenue NSW.
- Administer superannuation obligations, ensuring accurate and timely contributions in compliance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
- Liaise with external accountants (PWC) as required for end-of-year tax matters and reporting.
Bank Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in MYOB AccountRight Premier.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Payroll Processing
- Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule, including wages, entitlements, and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable industrial instruments and Fair Work requirements.
- Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting via MYOB.
General Accounting
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Produce periodic financial reports for review by the Director.
- Support the business with financial data as required for insurance, regulatory, or operational purposes.
Job Requirements & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA or CA qualification preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in BAS preparation and lodgement, payroll tax, and superannuation compliance.
- Proficiency in MYOB AccountRight Premier is a MUST.
- Solid understanding of Single Touch Payroll (STP) and ATO reporting obligations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing compliance deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing or small-to-medium enterprise (SME) environment is advantageous.
Pay: $48,000.00 – $58,000.00 per year

- North St Marys NSW 2760: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
