PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Social Media Specialist leads and coordinates WIP Group’s digital marketing efforts across social media and online platforms, supporting business development and brand engagement through high-quality content and strategic campaign strategies. This role leverages performance insights to continuously optimise marketing activity, contributes to employer branding and promotional initiatives, and supports team capability through mentoring and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement social media strategies aligned to business objectives and brand growth.
- Create engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, EDMs, presentations, and digital campaigns that focus on income protection, financial wellbeing, and worker-focused messaging.
- Manage day-to-day social media activity, including content planning, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement.
- Design and produce marketing and brand assets such as presentations, templates, flyers, booklets, and branded materials.
- Source, coordinate, and manage branded merchandise to align with brand standards and support promotional and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, campaigns, and communications.
- Collaborate with internal teams, unions, and stakeholders to support campaigns, partnership events, and provide marketing support to the Growth team.
- Monitor performance metrics, engagement, and audience growth, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Support employer branding, storytelling, and promotional initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns, contributing to team development.
- Stay up to date with social media trends and digital opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
- Market research and consumer analysis.
- Support ad hoc partnership/stakeholder management projects.
KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Advanced content creation skills across social media platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Canva for social media content, presentations, and marketing assets.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for image editing, branding, and visual design.
- Ability to create engaging visual and video content optimised for social media platforms.
- Good communication skills and confidence engaging with people at events, and for interviews or testimonials.
- Organised and reliable, with the ability to follow a content calendar and meet deadlines.
- Positive and proactive team player with a willingness to assist with ad hoc projects.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- 2+ years in digital marketing and social media coordination.
- Bachelor Degree or higher qualification
Preferred:
- Experience in digital content creation within insurance, financial services, or employee benefits sector.
Including knowledge of:
- Advanced understanding of social media platforms and content types.
- Awareness of brand consistency and respectful content practices.
Pay: $95,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
