About the business/role/team
This role sits within the Line 1 Risk team in IT and is responsible for leading a team of Technology Risk Advisors who partner with technology stakeholders to support the effective application of the organisation’s Risk and Compliance Management Framework. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Risk and Compliance, you will work closely with leaders across the Technology Project Risk, Technology Controls Testing and Cyber Risk and Compliance teams, and with the IT Senior Leadership Team, and stakeholders across the broader organisation.
As a trusted advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening risk management practices, fostering a positive risk culture, and enabling informed decision-making across IT.
About the role
Lead the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the IT Department risk profile.
Partner with IT leaders to support the effective application of the Risk and Compliance Management Framework.
Collaborate with Line 2 Risk to identify and implement improvements to Technology risk management practices.
Support the Senior Manager, Technology Risk and Compliance in facilitating Technology risk governance forums and reporting activities.
Work closely with Line 1 Risk teams across the organisation to promote consistent and effective risk management approaches.
Champion and drive a strong risk culture across the IT function.
Lead, coach and develop a team of four Technology Risk Advisors, fostering high performance and continuous professional growth.
This role does not cover Cyber Security.
About you
You are an experienced technology risk professional who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities. You are comfortable operating in complex environments and influencing positive risk outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
You will bring:
Extensive experience in Technology risk management, with a strong understanding of technology risks, controls and governance practices.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes with senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated success leading, developing and motivating high performing teams.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate risk, compliance and governance insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Significant experience supporting business areas in the implementation and ongoing application of Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks.
A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to managing risk and driving continuous improvement
