You see the big picture, you’ve always worked on a grand scale, and now you’re ready to re-focus on grand impact.
If finding complex technological solutions is your game, we've got the team for you. You're going to help us create seamless operations that result in efficiency for millions of customers.
In this role, you'll:
Lead the Network & Core Infrastructure domain, owning the strategy, target-state architecture and multi-year roadmap for connectivity, data centre, edge and core infrastructure platforms that underpin Transport's enterprise operations.
You'll act as the domain's technical authority, setting and governing architecture standards, principles and blueprints, and providing architectural assurance across all network and infrastructure initiatives.
You'll define logical network and connectivity architectures, including segmentation and DMZ design, secure-by-design and resilient-by-design patterns, across multi-vendor environments (e.g. Cisco, Check Point, F5, Zscaler) and hybrid/cloud networks.
You'll shape the adoption of modern approaches such as Zero Trust networking, SD-WAN, cloud networking and automation, and set direction across diverse connectivity, from fibre and 5G to emerging options such as LEO satellite and dark fibre.
You'll govern managed service providers and key vendors to architectural intent, lead domain input into investment planning and business cases, and maintain modernisation and decommissioning roadmaps that address technical debt, platform lifecycle and capacity growth.
You'll partner closely with cyber security, enterprise architecture, cloud and delivery teams, and engage complex stakeholders across the business, including operational technology (OT) environments, to deliver secure, scalable and resilient outcomes.

About you
You're an experienced network and infrastructure architecture leader who operates at a strategic, domain level.
You're comfortable as the technical authority shaping standards, roadmaps and assurance, not just designing solutions.
You bring deep, multi-vendor network and security expertise and are confident designing logical architectures (segmentation, DMZ, secure connectivity) alongside modern patterns such as Zero Trust networking, SD-WAN and cloud networking.
You're strong on architectural governance, vendor and MSP direction, and shaping investment cases and lifecycle roadmaps, and you're a credible influencer across complex stakeholder and OT environments.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology or a related discipline
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or equivalent
- Employment screening checks as per government standards
