In this role, you'll:
Play a critical role within the Shared Services branch, leading a broad, high-impact finance function, supporting critical services across the Transport organisation. In this role you’ll have the chance to lead at scale and influence whole-of-organisation outcomes while having the opportunity to shape systems, uplift capability and drive transformation.
Lead end-to-end financial management and operations across management accounting, payroll accounting, expenses & payments, and finance systems.
Strengthen financial governance and controls, ensuring public funds are managed responsibly and in line with legislative and audit requirements.
Deliver insights that shape decisions, providing high-quality reporting, forecasting and advice that influence strategic priorities.
Drive continuous improvement, modernising finance systems, processes and service delivery to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
Partner with leaders across the organisation, translating financial data into clear recommendations that support better outcomes for the community.
Lead a high performing team of four (4) direct reports building capability, fostering capability, collaboration and a culture focused on service excellence.
Permanent, full-time role | Home office Burwood with hybrid working arrangements available.

About you
You are a strategic finance leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by public impact. You bring:
- Demonstrated experience in leading multi-functional teams delivering strategic financial management, control, and reporting services in a complex financial environment, including leading operational finance functions.
- Proven experience in leading and developing diverse teams across a range of financial and systems management services.
- Strong project management and change management skills, with a track record in driving improvements to financial processes and systems transformation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic advice for senior and executive stakeholders.
- Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on developing people and building capability.
- Essential - Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or a related discipline and full professional membership with either CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), or an equivalent.
