Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics
Full-Time | Part-Time | Casual | Chatswood, NSW
At Pouch Therapy, we are a growing paediatric occupational therapy practice based in Chatswood, supporting children and families across Sydney’s Lower North Shore and surrounding areas.
We believe therapy should be warm, practical and genuinely helpful, not only for the child, but for the whole family. Our approach focuses on helping children build the skills and confidence they need to participate more successfully in everyday life at home, at school and in the community.
As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an Occupational Therapist currently based in Australia to join our team. We welcome applications from experienced clinicians and new graduates, with opportunities available across full-time, part-time and casual employment.
About the Role
You will work with children across a range of developmental and functional areas, including:
- Fine motor and handwriting skills
- Sensory processing and regulation
- Emotional regulation and behaviour
- Social interaction and play skills
- School readiness and classroom participation
- Motor coordination and everyday functional skills
Depending on your experience, interests and availability, your caseload may include:
- Clinic-based sessions at our Chatswood practice
- School, preschool and childcare visits
- Home and community-based therapy
- Assessments, intervention planning and report writing
- Parent coaching and collaboration with educators and other professionals
We want our therapists spending their time doing what they trained to do: working with children and families.
Pouch has dedicated administrative support to assist with bookings, scheduling, client enquiries and other day-to-day administrative tasks. This means less time spent on admin and more time available for therapy, clinical planning and meaningful client work.
About You
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and families and values meaningful, relationship-based therapy.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility to obtain registration
- A genuine interest in paediatrics
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A warm, flexible and proactive approach
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- A current Working With Children Check and other relevant compliance requirements, or willingness to obtain them
New graduates are very welcome to apply. Starting your career comes with a lot to learn, and we aim to provide the supervision, mentoring and practical support needed to help you build confidence and develop as a paediatric OT.
Why Join Pouch Therapy?
We are intentional about creating a workplace where therapists can focus on their clinical work while still having the support they need around them.
