We are looking for someone who doesn't just record numbers, but can analyse the numbers, identify issues and provide practical financial advice to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record and reconcile all business transactions and payments
- Process and track supplier invoices and payments
- Monitor customer invoices and overdue accounts
- Maintain accurate supplier and customer accounts
- Prepare and maintain monthly Profit & Loss reports
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Monitor business cash flow and upcoming financial commitments
- Track purchasing, supplier costs and payment structures
- Monitor operational expenses including materials, fuel, repairs, wages and overheads
- Analyse costs and profitability, including cost per cubic metre
- Compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts
- Identify areas where costs can be reduced and margins improved
- Prepare regular financial reports for management
- Assist with financial controls and improving internal accounting processes
- Work closely with management to support business growth and financial decision-making
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in accounts, finance or management accounting
- Strong knowledge of P&L, budgeting and cash-flow management
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in construction, concrete, manufacturing, transport or a similar industry is highly desirable
