What you'll do:
Viasat International Government (VIG) delivers secure space, cyber, and tactical network solutions to governments around the world working within the Viasat Government (VGOV) business. Within Viasat International Government (VIG) the Tactical Networks and high assurance Encryption team (TN&E) focus on Defence and Intelligence users and partners across governments right around the world.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading our capture efforts to secure large programs of record, primarily in the land tactical domain. You will build relationships with senior defence stakeholders to gain insights into evolving requirements and priorities, supporting the development of customer-focused strategies, resource planning, and engagement approaches that contribute to successful business outcomes.
You will be part of a team delivering mission critical capabilities to our partners and in a company that is leading the way with space and defence technology solutions.
The day-to-day:
You will be engaged across Defence including Delivery Teams, and industry, to inform and develop our strategies to win large programs. In addition to working with internal stakeholders across the Viasat government team who will be supporting bid activities.
This is a senior role within the bid team and you will be expected to develop engagement plans, identify customer and internal resource requirements, develop strategies to win the business, inform go / no go decisions, support and lead bid responses and more.
You will be part of a team delivering mission critical capabilities to our partners and in a company that is leading the way with space and defence technology solutions.
Core components of the role include:

Opportunity Progression: Beyond the Pursuit Gate, lead the detailed assessment and "go/no-go" decision gates to determine if Bid viability and resource investment make sense.

Customer Intimacy: Build engagement with agency stakeholders to uncover hidden needs, hot buttons, and key buying criteria

Competitive Intelligence: Analyse incumbent contractors, likely competitors, and their past performance to find gaps and weaknesses.

Win Strategy & Discriminators: Develop a formal capture plan that outlines unique win themes and solution differentiators tailored to the client.

Teaming & Solution Alignment: Shape teaming partnerships, solution design, and pricing-to-win strategies before proposal writing begins.

Transition to Proposal: Bridge the gap into proposal execution by turning customer intelligence into clear positioning and requirements for writers

What you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
-
Understanding of defence programs and procurement
-
Experience building teams that deliver and win
-
Recent experience of land tactical programs, including Land 4140
-
Ability to obtain a Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance in Australia or New Zealand
