Brand New Centre Opened in March 2026 – Be Part of the Foundation Team
We're excited to welcome an experienced and passionate Centre Cook to join our brand-new early learning centre. This is a unique opportunity to be part of establishing a positive, healthy, and nurturing environment from the very beginning. The role is permanent, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday working 4 hours a day, which will increase as the centre grows and with the benefit of being paid at casual rates.
About the Role
As our Centre Cook, you will play an essential role in supporting children's health, wellbeing, and development by preparing nutritious and delicious meals each day. Working closely with the Centre Leadership Team, you will help create positive food experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen compliance.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and serve healthy, nutritious meals and snacks that meet children's dietary and nutritional requirements
- Cater for allergies, cultural preferences, and special dietary needs in accordance with centre policies
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment at all times
- Manage food ordering, stock rotation, and kitchen inventory
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health requirements, and centre procedures
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Contribute to the setup, organisation, and ongoing success of our brand-new centre
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience working as a cook in a childcare, school, aged care, hospitality, or similar environment
- Knowledge of nutrition requirements for young children
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of food handling, hygiene, and kitchen safety practices
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage daily kitchen operations
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- A genuine passion for promoting children's health and wellbeing through nutritious food
