We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista / Front of House Supervisor to join the team at Convoy Commune in Merewether.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, loves specialty coffee, and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
About the Role
As our Head Barista / FOH Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations while maintaining the high coffee standards Convoy Commune is known for.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support the front-of-house team during service
- Lead coffee service and maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
- Support, train and mentor baristas and floor staff
- Ensure smooth daily operations, manage an efficient workflow and maintain high service standards, especially during busy periods
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient café environment
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and open/close procedures
- Deliver warm, genuine customer service, handle customer enquiries and build relationships with regulars
- Maintain a positive, respectful and fun team culture and professional work environment
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a senior barista, head barista, or café supervisor with strong coffee knowledge and skills
- Can confidently handle high-volume coffee service while maintaining quality
- Has strong leadership and communication skills
- Is confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment, leads by example and brings a positive attitude to every shift
- Is organised, reliable, proactive and solutions-focused
- Able to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality, specialty coffee and the people we serve
- Holds full Australian working rights
- Available to work weekends and public holidays as required
