We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Painter to join our professional construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, patching, and repairing imperfections.
- Protect floors, fixtures, furniture, and other surfaces from paint and preparation materials.
- Select and prepare paints, primers, sealers, stains, and other coating materials.
- Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve the required colours and finishes.
- Apply paints, primers, stains, varnishes, and other protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other appropriate tools.
- Paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, frames, trims, and other building components.
- Apply appropriate preparation and coating systems to different surfaces, including plasterboard, timber, masonry, metal, and other construction materials.
- Ensure surfaces are properly prepared and finished to achieve a smooth, even, and high-quality result.
- Identify and rectify defects such as cracks, peeling, uneven surfaces, and other imperfections.
- Perform touch-up, maintenance, and repainting work as required.
- Follow project plans, specifications, manufacturer instructions, and relevant Australian building requirements.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors and other trades to complete projects efficiently and within scheduled timeframes.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant industry experience as a Painter.
- Demonstrated experience in residential construction, renovations, or commercial painting projects.
- Good knowledge of surface preparation, painting techniques, coatings, and finishing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ability to work accurately and achieve a high standard of finish.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Mandarin-speaking ability is advantageous.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
