We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef with a creative flare for cooking and creating dishes utilizing the best fresh local premium produce that will leave customers coming back for more. A person who can effectively work as a kitchen team member and organize the kitchen’s activities for our small family business that is growing rapidly in Tasmania’s booming tourism industry. This is also an ideal opportunity for a hospitality working couple as there are other roles available within in the business.
Operating 7 days a week for lunch and dinner Saturday evenings you will have plenty of down time to explore Tasmania and enjoy the Island life. The position offers the right person long term employment prospects and the opportunity to further develop their skills and reputation as we expand to keep up with the growing tourism here in Tasmania.
A General Brief of some Responsibilities:
- Controlling & directing food preparation processes and any other relative activities.
- Assisting with menu construction with new or exciting culinary creations ensuring the quality and use of fresh local seasonal produce that is a good fit with our Premium Wines made on-site.
- Assisting with stock ordering and identifying shortages
- Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
- Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Covering Head Chef’s days off
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Credentials in health and safety training.
