Support Worker Wanted – Ice Skating Buddy (Casual)
Location: Redland Bay to Acacia Ridge, QLD
Hours: A couple of hours on a weekday afternoon, with the potential for additional hours in the future.
Are you a fun, energetic and neuroaffirming Support Worker who enjoys thinking outside the box?
We're looking for someone who is passionate about building genuine connections and helping a young teenage participant enjoy her favourite social and community activity—ice skating.
This is much more than providing transport. We're looking for someone who is happy to get involved, encourage confidence and, from time to time, lace up your skates and join the participant on the ice. Your willingness to actively participate will help create a fun, supportive and memorable experience.
About the Role
You will be supporting a young teenage girl to:
- Attend her weekly ice skating sessions.
- Build confidence and independence within the community.
- Develop social connections through a shared interest.
- Enjoy a positive, engaging and neuroaffirming support experience.
- Have fun while working towards her NDIS goals.
This role currently offers a couple of hours each weekday afternoon, with the opportunity for additional shifts as support needs grow.

- Confident building rapport with young people.
- Happy to actively participate in activities, including getting on the ice when appropriate.
- Creative, encouraging and focused on the participant's strengths.
- A great communicator who can work collaboratively with the participant and her family.
As requested by the participant's family, this position is open to female applicants. This requirement is intended to meet the participant's support needs and preferences.
Essential Requirements
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete).
