Tax Consultant - William Buck
About the Role
William Buck is seeking a motivated Tax Consultant to provide taxation compliance and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio, including private businesses, individuals, family groups, and corporate entities. This role offers the opportunity to work with experienced professionals while developing your expertise in Australian taxation.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
Assist with BAS, FBT, and other tax compliance obligations.
Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and taxation legislation.
Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
Tax Advisory
Research and interpret Australian tax legislation.
Assist with tax planning, business structuring, and succession planning projects.
Provide practical advice on income tax, GST, CGT, payroll tax, and related matters.
Support senior team members on complex tax engagements.
Client & Team Support
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Respond to client enquiries and liaise with the ATO when required.
Prepare technical reports and taxation analyses.
Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and business advisors across the firm.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
Strong understanding of Australian taxation principles.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
Desirable
Progress toward or completion of CA, CPA, or CTA qualifications.
Experience in public practice accounting.
Knowledge of Xero, MYOB, APS, or similar systems.
Previous tax compliance or advisory experience.
