We are a locally owned café in the heart of Harbour Town, seeking passionate chefs to join our close-knit team.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- At least Certificate IV in commercial cookery or kitchem management
- Proven experience at at least 3 years in commercial dining-in cafe and restaurant as a chef.
- Strong communication skills with front-of-house staff and café patrons
- Ability to liaise daily with the owner and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations and consistent standards
- Valid Australian work visa required
What you will be doing in this role:
- Preparing and monitoring food preparation as per order and special customer request.
- Working closely with suppliers and managing stock efficiently
- Menu design, update and revision
- Assisting in kitchen budgeting, food costing and labour costing
- Monitoring and training kitchen team as required
- Calm under pressure with a professional, solutions-focused attitude
- Excellent attention to detail and food presentation
- Commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, including
- Following the Food Act 2006 (QLD) and relevant council requirements
- Completing all required food safety and hygiene training
- Maintaining accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and allergen awareness procedures
- Ensuring all food handling and storage practices meet compliance standards
