4. Industry Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the health and community
services sectors to secure placement and employment opportunities.
- Advocate for the social work profession and represent the university on relevant external
committees and working groups.
5. Staff Supervision & Administration
• Recruit suitably qualified academic staff to deliver the program.
- Coordinate, mentor, and lead teaching staff, sessional academics and guest lecturers.
- Oversee administrative processes related to timetabling, subject enrolments, results and census
dates.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Mandatory - A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
- Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent higher degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related discipline
and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching is desirable.
Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum development, and course coordination,
preferably within postgraduate social work programs.
Substantial professional experience in the social work or human services sector.
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and mentor academic teams, manage resources and resolve complex
problems in an autonomous environment.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective networks
with community stakeholders and diverse student cohorts.
