About the Role:
Join a dynamic logistics team and play a key role in delivering reliable freight solutions across Australia.
We are seeking a motivated Logistics Coordinator to join our Sydney operations. In this pivotal role, you will be assisting and be responsible for coordinating driver schedules, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of freight services across NSW. This job role is permanent full time with a work week of Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 5am to 3pm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and schedule drivers' jobs & workloads according to customers' transport needs.
- Ensure drivers and subcontractors are scheduled to loads on a timely basis and within the guidelines of the Wickham Freight Lines Fatigue Management System.
- You must ensure drivers receive accurate information and paperwork related to loads/pickups and you must monitor freight movements and report any irregularities to the Depot Manager.
- Liaison management and other staff to ensure all issues with regards to the freight requirements of customers are met.
- Assist with weekend delivery times schedule.
- Report on a weekly basis.
- Be a key player in a small logistics team in Sydney and liaise with our interstate teams in VIC & QLD.
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Entry Level applicants that have a Passion for Trucks, Transport and Customer Service, and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal will also be considered.
- Transport experience or a Bachelor/Diploma of Logistics is desirable.
- Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle Road paths in Sydney is desirable.
- An understanding of the logistics supply/retail chain is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn and become efficient and confident in scheduling drivers and loads.
- Experience using TruckMate will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to converse with customers and drivers
- Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.
- You must be accountable and have a committed attitude to work
