Female Support Worker | In-Home Disability Support | Ongoing Shifts
We are seeking female support workers for one on one, in home support with a participant living with Huntington's Disease.
These are ongoing weekly shifts, not casual fill in work. You do not need to cover all of them. Apply for the ones that suit and tell us which.
Available shifts
- Sunday 8:00pm to 11:00pm
- Monday 9:00pm to 11:00pm
- Tuesday 9:30am to 5:00pm
- Tuesday 8:00pm to 11:00pm
- Wednesday 8:00pm to 11:00pm
Buddy shift: Thursday 23 July, day time
Shifts commence: Tuesday 28 July
Female applicants only. The role involves personal care and is open to female applicants only in line with the participant's needs and preferences.
Strong spoken English is essential. Huntington's Disease affects the participant's speech. Their voice can be quiet and hard to make out, and it takes patience and a good ear to catch everything. You will need to listen closely, pick up on subtle cues, and respond clearly without rushing them. This is the requirement we weigh most heavily.
The work
- Personal care and daily routines
- Meal preparation and mealtime support
- Transfers and mobility using specialised equipment, with hands on training provided
- Community access and outings
- Warm, respectful company throughout the shift
What we are looking for
Reliability. Someone who turns up on time, every time. Care experience is useful but not essential. A current driver's licence is required. Confidence driving a modified wheelchair accessible vehicle is an advantage, not a dealbreaker.
You will need, or be willing to obtain
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Right to work in Australia
To apply
Send a short note covering your relevant experience, which shifts you are available for, and your suburb.
Pay: From $42.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
