We are looking for an experienced Policy & Business Growth Consultant to join us remotely and help identify practical opportunities for businesses to grow, adapt, and compete more effectively.
This role is ideal for someone who understands both policy and business — someone who can research government policies, regulations, market trends, and industry developments, then turn that information into clear and practical business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyse government policies, regulations, legislation, economic developments, and industry trends that may affect businesses.
- Identify business opportunities created by changes in government policy, regulation, funding programs, incentives, or market conditions.
- Assess potential risks and challenges that businesses may face and develop practical recommendations to address them.
- Conduct market, competitor, industry, and customer research to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Analyse existing business models, strategies, and operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop practical growth strategies and action plans based on research, data, and market conditions.
- Identify relevant government grants, funding programs, incentives, partnerships, and other opportunities where appropriate.
- Help businesses understand complex policies and regulations in clear, straightforward language.
- Prepare business cases, policy analysis, market reports, strategic recommendations, and feasibility assessments.
- Translate research and analysis into practical recommendations that business owners and management can understand and implement.
- Monitor policy and regulatory changes and assess their potential commercial impact.
- Support businesses with market-entry, expansion, diversification, and growth decisions.
- Challenge assumptions, identify gaps in existing strategies, and bring new ideas to the table.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through written reports, presentations, and online meetings.
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the team and clients.
Requirements
- Proven professional experience in consulting, policy analysis, business strategy, economic analysis, regulatory affairs, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of how government policy, regulation, and economic conditions can influence businesses and industries.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information and turn it into clear, practical recommendations.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of business strategy, commercial decision-making, and growth principles.
- Experience conducting market research, competitor analysis, industry analysis, or business assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex policy, regulatory, or economic issues in simple and practical language.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with data and multiple information sources.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment.
- Good judgement and the confidence to question assumptions and provide an independent point of view.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable communicating with business owners, executives, managers, and other stakeholders remotely.

Pay: $58,000.00 – $63,000.60 per year
