The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol, Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering Mental Health and AOD Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other mental health and AODS in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area.
Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will.....
Deliver direct clinical care for Prison Mental Health Service clients with complex mental health issues including assessment, diagnosis, input into treatment planning and promoting evidence-based care.
Utilise discipline-specific clinical skills and knowledge to carry out assessment and/or interventions for clients of the Prison Mental Health Service.
Participate in and contribute to state-wide service delivery and initiatives.
Provide education, direction, and supervision for routine tasks to less experienced staff, and students.
Contribute to optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and education.
