Chef / Cook – Entrees, Sides & Fryer Section

Buon Appetit is a busy, family-owned Italian restaurant in Camden, specialising in handmade Italian food, wood-fired pizza, pasta, pizza fritta, antipasti and high-volume dine-in service.
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Chef / Cook to join our kitchen team full-time, working mainly across the entrees, sides and fryer section.
This role is suited to someone who can work cleanly, move fast during busy service, follow systems, and take pride in consistent food quality.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing and running the entree, sides and fryer section during service.
This includes:
- Fryer section setup and service
- Cooking pizza fritta, arancini, chips, sides and other fried items
- Preparing and plating entrees, starters and sides
- Completing daily prep lists
- Maintaining portion control and presentation standards
- Keeping the section clean, organised and stocked
- Following recipes, systems and instructions
- Working closely with the pizza, pasta and pass sections during busy service
- Following food safety, FIFO, labelling and hygiene procedures
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous kitchen experience in a busy restaurant, café, takeaway or similar food venue
- Experience on fryer, entrees, larder, sides or similar section
- Ability to work fast and stay calm under pressure
- Strong cleanliness and organisation
- Good communication with the kitchen team
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow recipes, portions and procedures
- Pride in consistent food quality and presentation
Italian food experience is preferred, but not essential.
Roster
This is a full-time position.
Buon Appetit operates Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday closed.
Weekend availability is required.
