As the Kitchenhand, you will prepare and assemble ingredients, manage special dietary requirements, and ensure food safety compliance. You will pick, label, and dispatch food orders, monitor stock levels, and maintain kitchen cleanliness. You will report any equipment or food safety issues and contribute to the Food Safety Program to uphold Bolton Clarke’s quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepares and assembles ingredients for cooking, handles special dietary requirements, in compliance with food safety and hygiene legislation and ensures that all meals are prepared and served to meet Bolton Clarke’s standards.
- Monitors the cleanliness and maintenance of food preparation areas, cold storage rooms, utensils, transport trolleys, and truck fridges and ensures that all areas are kept hygienic and in compliance with Bolton Clarke’s Food Safety Program and Department of Health Food Handling Standards.
- Picks, labels, and dispatches food trays, containers, and dry goods orders and ensures accuracy of orders and prompt communication to the Production Manager regarding any shortages or stock availability issues.
- Checks and records the temperature of food trays and containers before dispatch to ensure compliance with temperature regulations, and promptly address any discrepancies by reporting them to the appropriate team members.
To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:
- Diploma preferred; Catering, Food Services, Logistics is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
- Minimal experience in commercial catering or other food services for the Aged in either a nursing home or hospital practice setting is preferred.
- Food Handlers Certificate is prescribed.
- Proficient in Food Safety & Compliance, Cleaning & Sanitation, Equipment Maintenance, Inventory Management, Order Management, Microsoft Office and Business Documentation skills.
- Excellent Communication, Customer Experience and Results Orientation skills.
