Your new role:
As our Clinical Midwife Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Blood Management services through expert clinical leadership, education and quality improvement across Metro South Health. You will:
Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert consultancy in Blood Management, supporting safe, evidence-based care across multiple clinical services.
Lead education, training and clinical practice improvement initiatives to promote the safe use and administration of blood and blood products.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement and evaluate policies, guidelines and innovative models of care that enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Drive quality improvement, clinical governance and service redesign initiatives through data analysis, auditing, research and continuous improvement activities.
About you:
We're looking for an experienced and influential midwifery leader who is committed to improving patient outcomes through collaboration, innovation and clinical excellence. You will bring:
Current registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and extensive contemporary clinical experience, ideally including expertise in Blood Management.
Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement, clinical governance and evidence-based practice initiatives within complex healthcare environments.
Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and build strong collaborative relationships.
A passion for education, mentoring, research and continuous improvement, with a commitment to delivering safe, culturally responsive and woman-centred care.

Unit Profile
The MSH Clinical Governance team works collaboratively with executives, senior managers, clinical/non-clinical staff and consumers to ensure that MSH has an effective, coordinated, organisation-wide approach to quality improvement, clinical effectiveness, patient safety, patient experience and consumer liaison services. This ensures MSH's approach to clinical governance remains contemporary, consumer focused and based on the best available evidence.
The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team provides leadership and support for patient safety and quality at an organisational level, through incident monitoring, review, advice and training, to support best practice and shared learning. This team will have strong links with Directorate based Safety and Quality Units.
